The Globalrahee Garuda Camp has been conceptualised to energise young minds and stimulate the quest for discovery & adventure – all being part of their academic & practical experience while travelling outside the confinement of their classrooms to unfamiliar lands. Schools which look beyond mere academic excellence will discover our Camps as a perfect spring board for broadening student’s horizons while developing their eco – consciousness, social commitments and in building up the esprit de corps. The youths will also be encountering moderate levels of adventure activities like hiking and Bridge Slithering which are included in this itinerary. We promise you a fun filled adventure all the way. So, get out of that Box and away from your computers and video games. Rough it up a little as you go on a trek and explore the woods, feel the adrenaline rush as you go zip lining and rock climbing. We make rafts with bamboos, kite flying and Para glider ground handling. At Globalrahee Garuda Adventure camp, you can do all this and much more! At the Globalrahee Garuda Adventure camp Safety is a guaranteed factor. Through our experience over the years in leading groups for expeditions and conducting youth camps, Garuda camp has the capability to prevent hazards and handle situations. We are recognized for our safety standards. It is not just a summer camp, it is a quest of discovery and you’re the explorer. Make new friends through our fun and interactive games. Spend the night in a tent, sing songs sitting around the campfire and enjoy the scrumptious meals. Bring out the adventurer in you.
Location The camp falls within 200 meters from the Pauri-Kotdwar state highway and is located at an altitude of 4700ft above sea level near village Parsundakhal. The Historic cantonment town - Lansdowne is 70km from the Camp and the scenic village- Khirsu is 30km away. Short distance away from the camp, the Pauri-Buwakhal ridge, dense with Rhododendron, Oak, and Bayberry trees (our trekking and night out area) showcases the 250 km wide Himalayan ranges. The Joshiyana Gad stream flows 100 meters from the camp, providing the group safe and fun place to do various water activities. The distance from Dehradun to camp Garuda is 163km and takes roughly 5 ½ hrs. to 6 hrs. by bus. The camp is accessible by four roads Pauri – Kotdwar, Pauri – Kanshet – Satpuli – Kotdwar, Buwakhal – Khirsu – Srinagar, Pauri – Devprayag
Amenities Tents (12ft X 13ft) can accommodate 5-6 people comfortably. Separate tent areas for boys and girls are allotted. Tents have attached floorings so as to keep all the bugs etc. out. Four inch thick high density foam mattress are provided. If participants do not have sleeping bags and camping mats the same shall be provided during the program. Toilets are attached permanent structures with 10 tents and remaining 8 tents have common toilets and bathrooms a short distance away. Separate tents and Toilets / Bathrooms are allotted for boys and girls. Toilets and bathrooms are tiled and offer running water at all times and high levels of sanitization are maintained. Hot bathing water is provided on demand. With the exception of 3 non-vegetarian meals, during the program, food comprises mostly of unlimited vegetarian food, keeping in mind nutritional requirements and taste. Unlimited Milk, Tea and Coffee are served in the mornings and the participants are served juices during the activities and lunch. All vegetables, meat, eggs are procured locally and RO water is provided. The entire perimeter of the camp is fenced for safety, and the stream flowing below the camp is safe and just knee deep. In house security & motion sensor lighting are in place. We have in-house Doctor with every group. The instructors responsible for the outdoor training are very experienced and qualified. Advance mountaineer from NIM. Female instructors are also there for the girls. There is backup in case of power failure.
Activities Groups are entitled to 2 major activities during their stay. Post lunch is free time to spend building hobbies and learning skills within and outside the campus. Post tea time spent for informal activities, group interaction, village visit, time by the stream etc. Major Activities - Rock climbing, Rappelling, Bridge slithering, Back packing, Mountain biking and on special demand - Safe river rafting. Depending on weather conditions and logistic, hobby activities include Kite flying, Raft making, Para Glider ground handling, Village visit plus Social service, Theatre and Stream fun time (Fun at the waterfall and water pools in the Joshiyana Gad stream).
